We have lots of new members and lots of folks getting ready to attend QuiltCon, so what better time to make some quilty nametags!! For the February 1st meeting, we will be coming together for a social sew night with a couple fun options of items to work on.
First up, we have the super fun & free Call Me Pattern from ByAnnie’s. It has little zippered pocket for your secret stash and a clear pocket to insert printed nametags, stickers, or other goodies, and the back has a mesh pocket for your phone! If you're feeling adventurous, and have a short enough name, you can even FPP or applique your name in the the background. These are perfect for our meetings and any events you might attend!
Already have a nametag you love? Another option is making a lanyard or wrist strap for printed name tags, pouches, keys, or anything you can attach to with a clip.
What to bring:
Your machine and basic sewing set up (thread, scissors, etc.).
Call Me nametag
- See pattern for fabric and batting needs
- The guild will have limited amounts of vinyl, mesh, elastic, and zippers available, but if you have your own you are encouraged to bring them.
Lanyard:
- Approx. two 4-inch WOF strips of fabric
- One 1-inch strip of fleece, webbing, or interfacing.
- The guild will bring some clips for those that don't have their own.
And we will have extension cords, irons, and pressing/cutting mats.
Join us on January 4th at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin (4700 Grover Ave, Austin, TX 78756).
This meeting will NOT have a Zoom option.

Free Table at February Meeting!
Last month's meeting was all about decluttering your sewing space so we thought y'all might appreciate a free table this month!
Got some sewing related items you no longer want/need taking up precious space in your sewing room??? Bring em to the February meeting to share with other members.
Please, no books.
Anything not taken by the end of the night will be donated to Austin Creative Reuse.
