  The Austin Modern Quilt Guild

What is AMQG Service?

As part of the larger MQG, our philanthropic mission is to support individuals and communities during transitional periods through modern quilting. In practice, we encourage members to share their finished projects with folks in need of them most.

Every year, our members make quilts and other useful items for the guild to donate to local charitable causes.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

      • Make a quilt on your own with anything you have at home.
      • Make a quilt using supplies the guild provides:
          • Kits: at the monthly meeting, pick up a kit with a pattern and fabric to make a top.
          • Batting available on request; just let us know the size you need.
          • Fabric available on request for backing or piecing.
      • Make *part* of a quilt:
          • Contribute some blocks or a top you’ve made.
          • Quilt a top someone else made.
          • Bind a project someone has already quilted.

Please share your finished quilts, tops, or blocks to Facebook and Instagram with our hashtags: #austinmqg #amqgservice
