One of the highlights of our programming year is our annual design challenge! Members are provided a certain fabric, block, or theme to interpret in a modern quilt that will be donated to one of the charitable organizations we support.  

The 2026 Service Design Challenge 

Help us make this fabric disappear!

  • Use at least one disappearing block in your design
  • Use at least some fabric  you get from the AMQG stash
  • Minimum size is 65"x 85"
  • Completed quilts must include binding, a service label, and be washed!
Pick up a label at a general meeting or contact the Service Committee to get a label mailed to you. Some batting and backing available upon request.

Past Challenges

For the 2020, 2021, and 2022 challenges, we had one-day quilt shows at Austin Creative Reuse to display the beautiful quilts.

In 2023, we returned to displaying our finished quilts at a monthly meeting.
