The Austin Modern Quilt Guild

One of the highlights of our programming year is our annual design challenge! Members are provided a certain fabric, block, or theme to interpret in a modern quilt that will be donated to one of the charitable organizations we support.

The 2025 Service Design Challenge

Modern Art Inspired Quilts

Get inspired by the wide world of modern art and create your own masterpiece
Minimum size is 65"x 85"
Completed quilts must include binding, a service label, and be washed!
Quilts are due at the September 2025 meeting, where we will have a mini show and voting

Pick up a label at a general meeting or contact the Service Committee to get a label mailed to you. Some batting and backing available upon request.

Past Challenges

For the 2020, 2021, and 2022 challenges, we had one-day quilt shows at Austin Creative Reuse to display the beautiful quilts.

In 2023, we returned to displaying our finished quilts at a monthly meeting.
