Members of the AMQG can choose to be part of the service committee which is geared toward sharing our modern quilting talents and skills with the greater-Austin community through charity projects.

In 2016, the service committee plans to organize several designated sew-ins where guild members can help piece blocks, as well as volunteer to piece tops, quilt and bind. This year’s goal is to donate 10 quilts to three different organizations.

Even if you’re not a part of the committee, we invite you to contribute a block or two towards our goal. This is a fun and purposeful way to try something new and learn some skills. Sew up your blocks between meetings, and turn them in at the next meeting. It’s as simple as that! The blocks received will be used to make our donated quilts, helping us reach our goal even faster.
